The Joe Collins Young Persons Award

To be awarded to:

A young person, or group of young people, aged 13-19 years

who are from, or have links to, north Halifax, and

who have demonstrated their achievements/ positive impact on other people’s lives.

Nominations can be made by young people themselves or by someone who knows them well and can describe what the young people have done to be considered for the award.

Nominators can be professional workers or local residents with no link to any organisation.

 

Evidence to support the nomination can be in writing, photographs, a short video or any other format of the young people’s choice.

The winner or winners will receive a personal trophy and a small financial reward to help further develop their skills and interests.

Joe Collins was a lifelong resident of north Halifax. He had a great vision for young people in the area; through the work at OSCA, he wanted to improve local health and wellbeing with excellent sporting and community facilities.

 

The Joe Collins Hub is a key part of the vision, with the clear aim of providing a place for young people to meet to develop their skills and interests in a supported environment.
