I originally got into coaching as my youngest trained with his friends but there wasn’t a coach to take on a new team when the season began. My brother in-law initially took up the role  of coaching but needed a parent on the sideline with them until he qualified. As we were family, that parent was me. It didn’t take long before I was helping out in training, setting up pitches on match days and starting to referee!! I didn’t take much convincing after that to step up and take over the team when Danny set up a new u7’s team the following year.
